In a nutshell: In order to protect children from alcohol advertisements the charity Alcohol Concern is calling on drinks retailers to avoid “retargeting” advertising techniques.  “Retargeted advertising” is advertising which appears to online users from companies whose websites they have previously visited.

Drinkaware targets women through netball fixtures

In a nutshell: Alcohol charity Drinkaware is using an international women’s netball fixture to target female drinkers. The charity’s logo will be advertised on the perimeter of the court for international games featuring England, Australia and New Zealand. This will give Drinkaware a unique opportunity to reach a predominantly female audience. Drinkaware advises women to stay within 2-3 units of alcohol each day, the equivalent of 175ml of wine or 3 single vodkas.
